ITINERARY OF YOUR STAY
All our roe deer stalking trips in Hungary are customizable. However, we recommend a stay of 3 or 4 days of hunting. By arriving in Hungary in the middle of the day, you will start hunting that very evening.
Typical stay: Arrival day, reception at Budapest airport if arriving by plane with transfer or by car to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, possibility of the first outing that evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Hunting days: Coffee, tea, biscuits early in the morning, hunting from sunrise until around 10 am, big breakfast, rest or visit the region, resuming hunting in the mid-afternoon until nightfall. Dinner and overnight stay.
Departure day: Return after breakfast.
In Hungary, you will hunt within the Great Plain, in a 4x4 with your professional guide. After spotting the roe deer, estimating the age and especially the weight of the trophy, the final approach is on foot.
GAME & TROPHIES
In spring, it’s all about roebuck... always roebuck.
Hungarian law only allows the harvesting of mature roe deer aged 5 years and older, so your professional guide in Hungary will be responsible for estimating the age and also the trophy weight with a margin of error of 10%. This is a guarantee for you!
Some of our territories host roe deer with relatively "classic" trophies, ranging from 300 to 400g+, while others consistently yield large trophy roe deer, with CIC Gold medals for weights exceeding 500g net.
Unlike some countries, we always talk about net weight (Gross - 90g). And the official CIC scoring, mandatory, is a guarantee for you!

From experience, we notice some years with more classic 6-point trophies, and others with so-called bizarre heads. Please note that we are present on our territories before the season opens, and we can inform you about this. Naturally occurring "perruque" antlers are rare and exceptional. Possibility of immediate notification by phone upon spotting.
YOUR ACCOMMODATION
Your accommodation will depend on the chosen territory. Generally, within the best roe deer territories, located in the great Hungarian plain, there are few hunting lodges. Instead, accommodations are typically in *** or **** hotels located within 15 minutes of your hunting territory.

Our basic package includes a double room (single room available as an option), full board, excluding drinks, with guaranteed quality services.
WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT
Importing your weapon into Hungary is easy. No prior request is needed; you only need your European Firearms Pass or SIA document. Alternatively, we can rent rifles on-site. For a roe deer stalking trip, bring the rifle you are accustomed to using.
In spring, the weather in Hungary is generally good. Bring light hunting and stalking clothes, along with a jacket and sweater for the mornings and evenings.
In summer, it can get very hot (30-35°C)… a pool is almost mandatory in the afternoon between hunting outings!
TO GET TO THE HUNTING AREA
By plane, the destination airport is Budapest. Many flights connect to the Hungarian capital daily from Western Europe and everywhere in the world. Only low-cost airlines do not accept weapons (except EasyJet). The flight takes about 2 hours from west of Europe. Upon arrival in Budapest, you can either rent a car at the airport or use our transfer service to your hunting area (approximately 2-2.5 hours of travel).
By car, it's mostly highway from Western Europe except for the last few kilometers. The distance is approximately 1500-1600 km.
TAXIDERMY
The first preparation of your trophies is included in our prices. However, if you want one of your trophies as a cape, you can take the skin of your roebuck with you for your usual taxidermist or request us to have it done in Hungary.
Hunting Period
April, May, end of July-beginning August
The best hunting period for roebucks in Hungary typically falls in two main periods:
-
Early Season: The hunting season for roebucks in Hungary officially starts on April 15. The early part of this season, particularly from mid-April to Mai 20, is a good time for hunting mature roebucks that are less wary after the winter and early spring.
-
Rutting Season: The peak rutting season, which occurs from mid-July to early August, is often considered the best time for hunting roebucks. During this period, bucks are more active and less cautious as they are focused on mating, making them easier to locate and stalking.
Hunting Zones
We recommend the plains regions from the East to the Southeast of Hungary.
Having been established in Hungary for over 20 years, the Hunting Pleasure team has developed special relationships with the best Hungarian territories. All are within the great plain, to the East of the Danube. The choice will be made with you, based on your dates and your harvesting preferences.
